Landscape Designer / Estimator — Pete Wurst

Pete has been working in the green industry since 1986. As the owner of J.J. Wurst Landscape Contractors, a family business started in 1963, he does not simply sit behind a desk. Pete is heavily involved with landscape design and installation, plant production for the garden center and project estimates. Pete takes pride in working directly with customers to provide a level of service not found elsewhere. He is a member of the PA Landscape and Nursery Association, a Nicolock Paving Stone and Retaining Wall Certified Installed, SEK Surebond Certified Installed and a Licensed PA Pesticides applicator.

Pat has been a part of the J.J Wurst family business since 1992 and since 2005 he has been the Garden Center Manager. Pat was trained by the founder, Jerry Wurst, and has continued his education by completing numerous courses. He has extensive knowledge of trees, shrubbery, planting seeds and indoor gardening. Due to his vast knowledge in these areas, Pat has assisted in the completion of most of our large landscape projects. In addition, Pat is a Certified Diesel Technician and PA Inspection Mechanic which allows him to maintain and repair the fleet of equipment here at J.J. Wurst Landscaping.

Mike's House

We gave the flat front of this house a new dimension with a seat wall and paver entry. The Country Manor Keystone seat wall and steps have LED lighting to provide both function and aesthetic appeal. The Pompeii pavers by Nicolock create an old world feel with low maintenance. The landscape wraps it all up with four season color and interest.
Jamestown Community College

The expansion of JCC Manufacturing Technology Institute included creating new bed areas and planting native flowering trees. Flowering and evergreen shrubs were planted and the landscape beds included steel bed edging, a weed barrier and finished off with bark mulch. Sod for the new lawn areas was installed to complete the project.
Blake's House

The previous deck and concrete patio were unsafe and well worn. Keystone Verrazo steps allow safe entry into the house. The seat wall, with LED lighting, accents the larger patio area. The patio is StoneRidge by Nicolock Pavers with a Holland Stone border. A custom cabinet to hide the electrical service wrap up the project.
Cascade Creek Restoration

The restoration of Cascade Creek in the city of Erie, PA helped to revive a once healthy stream and reestablish the natual beauty to the area. Trees and riparian buffer vegetation were planted along the the stream coridor. In addition, the channel width was restored and the popular bike/pedestrian trail was moved further from the stream.
